I know this is putting the cart before the horse, but I swear the first thing that comes to mind of Bobby Q’s is this: It seems that in the couple of decades of eating here I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes between ordering and plate on the table. That is pretty amazing given that the food here is so good, it seems such a little a time to prepare it. The staff have consistently been polite, attentive, and speedy. The sauce is so good, you want about half a bottle on your particular flavor of meat. I usually have either the pulled pork plate, or the beef plate, but the chicken and catfish on the odd occasion have been stellar too. Its a good sign when you show up anywhere near the standard meal times and you realize you are just going to have to wait in the LONG hallway/waiting area (usually no more than about 10 minutes though). That’s OK, it tells you just how good this place is. Locals already know this place, so for the rest of you I have to say, you will not regret eating here (save for possibility of eating too much). Remember to bring cash, still no checks or credit last time I ate here. If you like chocolate go for the fudge pie (if not, the banana pudding is equally fantastic).
